The Virtue of Sadaqah
Sadaqah (voluntary charity) is a noble and highly rewarded act in Islam, and it is regarded as a true sign of a believer’s faith. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said in an authentic Hadith:
“Cleanliness is half of faith. Alhamdulillah fills the scale. SubhanAllah and Alhamdulillah fill what is between the heavens and the earth. Prayer is a light, charity is proof of faith, patience is brightness, and the Qur’an is either a witness for you or against you.”
(Sahih Muslim)
This beautiful teaching reminds us that charity is not merely giving wealth — it is a reflection of our sincerity, faith, and compassion.
Sadaqah is not limited to money; every act of kindness, helping someone in need, or supporting a good cause is a form of charity. It is a simple yet powerful way to strengthen our faith and earn blessings from Allah. Every Muslim, regardless of wealth or status, has the opportunity to give Sadaqah at any time.
